Mini-Vacation

Hello Earthlings!

It's been awhile since I've been able to come on my blog for anything. I've been busy the last week and a half juggling my internship, literature homework, and making a cake. While I'm currently being distracted from my literature homework from Michigan's gorgeous (yet terribly humid) weather, I figured I'd post some of my pictures from my mini-vacation up north.

Burt Lake State Park
We stayed at Burt Lake State Park in Indian River, Michigan. I've been coming here with my family for around 15 years now, I believe. This is literally my favorite place to come in Michigan and it's become my home away from home.

My Dogs Gus (one on the right) and Ellie (one on the left) patiently waiting in line to get back on the boat.

Mackinaw Island
One of the days up there wasn't fantastic boating weather for Burt Lake, so we decided to head up to Mackinac City to take a Ferry to Machinaw Island.

At the top of the walkway going towards the cemetery.
One thing I love doing while on the Island is visiting the cemeteries. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures of the cemetery and the main street this time, but I did manage to capture this gorgeous view from the top of the hill heading towards the cemetery.

Park by The Iroquois Hotel
After walking around a lot by the cemetery, Skull Cave, and Lookout Pointe we headed back towards the main part of the town to rest a little bit. You get an amazing view from the park that's located right next to The Iroquois Hotel. Once we rested up a bit, we continued walking and going in a lot of shops, where I almost bought myself an Ugly Doll (I was so close this time!). Before we left, of course I had to buy some fudge. I stopped at Joann's, as it's generally my favorite out of the fudge places up there (Kilwin's is a close second). I picked up Chocolate, Butterfinger, and Salted Caramel Chocolate. All of them are very delicious and unfortunately the Butterfinger fudge is already gone.

Sunset at Burt Lake State Park
I wish my mini-vacation could have been longer, but we had to get back to the real responsibilities of our life. I'm really hoping to visit Mackinaw Island in the fall because I'm always hearing how beautiful it looks. I hoped you enjoyed a little sneak peak into my vacation!

Until next time!
